Armenia Lacrosse Secures Third Place Podium-Win in 2025 Men’s EuroLax Cup in Portugal

Less than one month after receiving provisional membership into World Lacrosse™, the Armenian Lacrosse Federation secured third place in the 2025 Men’s Eurolax Sixes Cup in Vila Real de Santo Antônio, Portugal. Ultimately, the three-day competition concluded with The Netherlands beating Switzerland White Squad 8-7 in overtime, with Switzerland White taking second place և Armenia third.

The third place win represented a significant milestone for Armenia Lacrosse, which is now recognized as the 93rd member federation of World Lacrosse™. According to the International Olympic Committee, World Lacrosse™ is the leading governing body for the sport of Lacrosse across five continental regions. Official Լաքրոսի Աշխարհի առաջնությանը մասնակցելու համար noted that the Armenia team “impressed in its debut” in the 2025 Men’s Eurolax Sixes.

On March 7, the first day of the competition, Armenia secured a victory over Portugal with a 15-11 win; followed by an afternoon 15-13 win for Armenia against Swiss White. On Saturday, the second day of the competition, Armenia lost 15-9 against The Netherlands; followed by a dominating 22-6 win against Luxembourg later that afternoon. On the final day of the Eurolax Cup, Armenia defeated France with a 17-7 win followed by a second daily victory of 12-7 against Swiss Red.

Armenia Lacrosse’s performance was duly recognized by commentators post-competition. According to @Armeniansportsnews (IG), “Armenia Lacrosse has sent a message to the rest of the world loud and clear: They are here and they are a force to be reckoned with.”

With their first podium-win in the 2025 Men’s Eurolax Sixes, Armenia Lacrosse has officially secured an enviable spot on the competitive Lacrosse radar. As an organization, Armenia Lacrosse represents the culmination of a thirty-year passion project for co-founders Ջոնի Մուրադյան, Father Shnork Souin, and Մհեր Սարիբեկյան; who have worked incessantly to teach the sport of Lacrosse to Armenian youth, fund and coordinate summer programs for Lacrosse across the Republic of Armenia, and lead Team Armenia Lacrosse to future victory in an international forum.

We are excited for the future,” adds co-founder, Team Armenia Lacrosse coach, and Լաքրոսի Ազգային Լիգա և Canadian National Team Hall of Famer Ջոնի Մուրադյան.
