Midnight October 20/21 was the final deadline for all player required documents for our men’s National Sixes Team and the women’s has previously passed as well to participate in the Spain qualifier tournaments in November.

Although we were unable to meet the deadlines due to circumstances not in our control, we will continue to build the youth lacrosse eco-system in Armenia and continue competing with our men’s and women’s national teams in international tournaments in the years ahead within World Lacrosse and its network affiliates.

For older people like me and my friends, having to wait until 2030 for our next shot at team Olympic medals is painful, but a reality in this paperwork-protocol-filled world of ours. We must celebrate the achievements of establishing a robust and growing Lacrosse community in Armenia building upon the years of expertise and hard work of our diasporan Armenians.

Thanks to Johnny Mouradian and his crew of hardworking professionals we have ranked unofficially but realistically in the top tier of the European division of World Lacrosse! This performance is why we were so encouraged and the basis for the successful establishment of Lacrosse in Armenia.

Lacrosse is the perfect example of fruitful cooperation between Armenia and its diaspora working together without any intervention and creating opportunity and awareness through healthy physical competition. That said, we need the aid of all parties to realize our dreams: teamwork is powerful. Full steam ahead.

Thanks for your love and support,

Sincerely Shant Hovnanian, President and Co-founder Armenia Lacrosse Federation.
