Armenia Men’s SIXES Team to Compete in the Balkan UnionSecond Annual Festival of Lacrosse in Thessaloniki, Greece Oct.19/20.

Mher Saribekyan, one of the Founders of Armenia Lacrosse is pleased to announce that Armenia Lacrosse will have the first ever Team Armenia competing at the Second Annual Balkan Union Festival of Lacrosse.

“We are pleased to have two Canadian Armenian and 11 American Armenian lacrosse players from the diaspora playing on our team”, says Mher. “All of our players are currently competing in high school, college or have played college lacrosse and are the role models for the growth of youth lacrosse for girls and boys in Armenia.”

Depending on the final schedule, Armenia will have an opportunity to compete against  teams from Greece, Bulgaria, Serbia, the American College of Thessaloniki, two teams from the Netherlands and a team from the USA.

 

“We are very excited to be hosting the second year of the Euro 6’s tournament in Greece. The teams have doubled this year, now including 4 women’s teams, and even larger men’s division.

We are very happy to welcome all of our first-time attendees — including Team Armenia competing in international competition for the first time. The sport is continuing to grow in the Balkans and we are happy to continue to add to the area’s rich sport history.” Explains Anthony Katagas President of Greece Lacrosse.
